“Tell me and will I forget; Teach me and I may remember; Involve me and I will learn”

– Benjamin Franklin –

Vision & Goals

To set up a learning group of children that embraces the principles of unschooling, giving them the freedom and the space to explore their curiosity, with the support of open-minded educators, supportive environment and community.

We aim to provide a safe emotional and physical space for children to express themselves and feel secure. We encourage children to engage with diverse cultures and perspectives, by fostering an international and world schooling environment. Our goal is to support self- directed learning, allowing children to take charge of their educational journeys in a collaborative and nurturing setting.

Values

Our core values emphasize supportiveness, creativity, cooperation, respect, modesty, gratitude, trust, communication, positivity, and consent. We value mutual respect and learning in adult-child relationships, ensuring that adults and children collaborate as equals. We believe in setting boundaries, agreements, and values with the children, creating a harmonious and respectful environment. The educational group is the product of a voluntary parental initiative; parental involvement is required according to need and each person’s ability to lend a hand and support. We aim to build a community where everyone feels valued and supported in their learning journey.

The Timetable

There will be 2 days of activity each week, Tuesday and Wednesday, from 9:00-15:00.

Independent arrival to the site.

The days will begin with a warm welcome and a group circle to set the tone for the day. Midday will feature a lunch break, and each day will conclude with a closing circle, allowing for reflection on the day’s experiences. The farm will provide fruit, vegetable snacks, and water throughout the day, while lunch will be brought by each child’s parents.

The educational and experiential activities will include farming, gardening, planting, mud-building workshops, cooking, language learning, music sessions, memory lessons, yoga, sports, and arts and crafts. The content of the activities and lessons may vary according to
the needs and interests of the children in the group.

Parent’s Participation

The initiative is led entirely by volunteer parents. To continue developing and growing the program in ways that benefit our children, ongoing involvement, volunteering, and participation in tasks will be required according to emerging needs. Families joining the initiative are encouraged to consider this commitment as part of their decision to become a part of the community.
